new friends

Despite the seriousness and pain of this landslide crisis, some good has come from it. In my case, it's the new friends I've met, whom I deeply respect and care about. I love to read their opinions, contemplate their perspective, and interact and find common ground. Humour is difficult - it's very hard to understand when the other is joking, and why it's funny! I've found it's best to stay sincere. This is hard given how much I love to joke and laugh!

I think my favorites already know who they are :-) Mostly young men and women, searching for a way to do the best thing for themselves and their families. Intermingled with posts on drowning homes and families in tents, are posts of Bollywood songs and Youtube jokes, showing that all of us need a break from serious subjects sometimes. An incredible bonus is the pictures by the hundreds of the spectacular landscape that shapes their world. My love for this region endures.
